Clinical predictability is the key
to reducing drug development costs. At the moment, the high failure
rate of drugs entering clinical trials is costing the industry billions
of dollars per year.
Massively parallel
and redundant by design, the human system offers significant challenges
to drug design efforts. Predicting clinical outcomes with any degree
of accuracy is an absolutely daunting task. That is why Serometrix
has spent years perfecting the ability to discover new and novel
target and peptide ligand pairs that already function nearly flawlessly,
and therefore quite predictably, in the human system.
Using the human system
as a guide, Serometrix is focused on methodically "discovering"
an entirely new class of lead compounds with predictable efficacy,
predictable toxicity, and predictable side effects. These new starting
points are then optimized for binding affinity using a host of modern
molecular modeling techniques.
Optimum clinical
predictability can only be obtained by understanding and emulating
these highly evolved protein interaction segments, which have been
derived from the very human system in which they are to clinically
operate. It is upon this fundamental premise that Serometrix operates.
