Dr. Candace
Johnson, PhD,
Chair of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Roswell
Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY. Previous positions included
the Deputy Director of Basic Research at the University of Pittsburgh
Cancer Institute, and Professor of Pharmacology and Medicine at
the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Johnson is
a member of the National Cancer Institute's Experimental Therapeutics
section, Associate Editor of Molecular and Cellular Differentiation,
Oncology, and Molecular Pharmacology, and member of the editorial
board of Oncology Reports, Molecular Cancer Therapeutics and Molecular
Pharmacology. Dr. Johnson has been issued two U.S. patents involving
oncology therapeutics. Dr. Johnson holds a PhD in Immunology from
Ohio State University.
Dr. Bernard
Poiesz, MD,
Director of Oncology, SUNY Upstate Medical Hospital, Syracuse, New
York. Dr. Poiesz is an active researcher and clinician, with a history
of commercial success. Dr. Poiesz played a pivotal role in the early
commercialization of PCR technology at the Cetus Corporation (now
Chiron), a technology for which the Nobel Prize was awarded, and
which eventually sprouted into a multibillion dollar enterprise
in the medical diagnostic market.

Medical Director of Concentra Inc., Rochester, NY. Serial
entrepreneur having significant relationships with Eastman Pharmaceuticals,
Myotech (cardiac assist), Lucid (health imaging), PeerPlace and
RHIG (informatics), Eli Lilly, Ortho Biotech, Schering, AstraZeneca,
Consumer Products Safety Commission, FLHSA (health planning), Metracomp,
American College Occupational and Environmental Medicine, American
Medical Association, American College Preventive Medicine, University
of Rochester, HPCA (wellness), and Simon and Kellogg Schools of

Mr. Michael
Muehlemann, President/CEO,
is a successful serial entrepreneur and technology manager with
experience in scientific research, product development, and commercialization.
His background includes business development, international sales,
and market development. Mr. Muehlemann holds BS and MS degrees
in Physics from the University of Missouri.
Mr. Vic
Nole, Executive Director Operations,
has over 20 years of Life Sciences management experience as President
of Invitrogen's GIBCO cell culture products division, as Director
of Operations for Life Technologies Inc., and as VP of Business
Development for United Biochemicals. Founded Buffalo BioSciences
(a management services business) and the NutriCyte Corporation
(a custom cell culture products business servicing drug discovery).
Mr. Nole holds a BS in Biology from the University at Buffalo
and an MBA from Canisius College.
Mr. Kyle
Monroe, EVP Corporate Development,
has a background in investment banking, license deal structuring
and corporate finance. He is the founder of Peregrine Capital
Partners, LLC, a boutique investment banking firm. The majority
of his career has been focused on high value-added financial
and consulting services for both public and privately owned
middle-market companies. Mr. Monroe earned his MBA from the
S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University,
and holds a BS from the School of Management at the State University
of New York at Buffalo.
Dr. Margaret
Reece, Chief Technology Officer,
has an extensive background in physiology, endocrinology, and
molecular biology. She has solid experience in both clinical medicine
and laboratory research including cell science, biotechnology,
medicine, biochemistry, and reproductive biology. She has experience
with IRB projects, clinical trial monitoring, and FDA/TPD regulations
regarding drug development. Dr. Reece holds a PhD from the University
of California, Davis.
